NOCTUIFORM SOLD.
A COSTLY FAILURE. (Received 8.45 ajn.) LONDON, October 16. Mr. J. Buchanan submitted Noctuiform fof sale) by auction at Newmarket to-day, when the New Zealand horse was sold for five hundred guineas. Noctuiform, the son of Multiform and La Notte, had a brilliant career as a three and four-year-old in New Zealand, aad was then purchas?d .for England at a, cost of five thousand guineas. There have been few more expensive failures on the turf than the ex-New Zealander. He has been given plenty of chances since his arrival in England, but for some unaccountable reason has failed to reproduce his fprm, and his one success, made at the thirteenth trial, was an unimportant race worth about £100.
