FATHER IGNATIUS DEAD.
(Received 9.45 a.m.) LONDON, October 16. The death is announced of Father Ignatius at the age of 71. Father Ignatius was one of the most successful Catholic missionaries in Eng- | land. He was a speaker pi rare power and ability, and attracted vast crowds of listeners. Of late years he refused to preach in the churches owing to the "rationalism" permitted by the bishops, bue he remained in loyal though lay communion with the English Church. His publications were extensive, while his one recreation, to use hU own words, was to oonduct eight services a day in the St. Anthony Abbey Church, at which he Was superior.
