ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent) WHITIANGA, this day. Wiliam Stewart, an old age pensioner, was found dead in his tent, near Whitianga, yesterday. At the inquest to-day, it was stated that he had been dead over ten days, and the body was hardly recognisable. A verdict of death from natural causes was returned. Frederick Hamilton Eyre, a very old settler, died yesterday. Deceased, who was much respected, was 74 years of age. A widow, six sons and one daughter are left to mourn their loss. He had been connected with timber mills all his life. Death was due to heartdisease. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) NAPIER, Monday. John Graham, aged 33 years, who was employed in the Hon. J. £>. Ormond's racing stables, at Karamii, near Hastings, was to-day found dead in a field with his throat cut. He had been drinking. WATROA (Hawke's Bay), this day. A native named Rawbira was killed) while bush-felling at the Hon. J. D. Ormond's Mahia station. DUNEDIN, Monday. A miner named Hugh Donaldson, aged about 64 years, residing at Snag Point, has committed suicide. PALMERSTON N., Monday. Mrs. Laney, wife of one of the original settlers of the Foxton Small Farm Association, Awahou South, was drowned to-day while fording the Pohangina River above the bridge recently wrecked by a landslip.
