THE AUSTRALIAN GAME.
FEDERAL CHAMPIONSHIP. (Received 10.1 a.m.) ADELAIDE, this day. The West Adelaide F.C., premiers of South Australia, defeated C'arlton, the premiers of Victoria, by 12 goals 9 behinds (81 points) to 7 goals 10 behinda (32 points), the South Australian club thus securing the title of champions of Australia at the Australian game. The Australian footballers have won their first three matches by satisfactory margins, their last victims being the county champions of last season. The New Zealanders met Cornwall on the second match of their tour, and romped over them by 41 points to nil. On Wednesday next the "Wallabies" will be fairly tested, the match fixed for that day being against Glamorgan County. The All Blacks won their Glamorgan match, the 29th of the tour, by nine points to nil, three tries being scored. Mid-Rhondda, the team defeated by the Australian professionals, is one of the recently-formed Welsh professional clubs, and the match is the easiest listed for the League players. Their next opponents are Bradford.
