A TERRIBLE ACCIDENT.
MERRTWA, September 23. Charles French (18) called at Salon's fruit shop to make a purchase, and, whilst being served, Ruby (12), daughter of the proprietress, noticed her younger brother playing with a six-chambered revolver. She, at once took it from hhn. She then turned the chambers, and exclaimed to French, "It is not loaded," at the same time pulling the trigger. The revolver went off, and a bullet struck French in a slanting- position on the bridge of the nose, passing through his eye, the eye being completely shattered. The bullet has not yet been extracted from his head. French is still conscious, and does not appear to suffer much pain. It appears that five chambers of the i revolver were empty, but that the sixth contained a loaded cartridge.
