; AVONDALE JOCKEY CLUB'S SPRING MEETING. ACCEPTANCES FOR THIRD DAY'S RACING. The concluding day's racing in connection with the Avondale Jockey Club's Spring j Meeting takes place to-morrow (Saturday! afternoon. The acceptances received for the various events are well up to the standard of the previous days, and another interesting afternoon's sport should result. The first race is timed to start at 12.30 p.m.. and a special train service has been arranged for. The track was in good order, and interesting r.ieing resulted. The sum of £7687 was pnt through the totaJisator. against £8767 for the same day last year. Twenty-four bookmakers plied their coiling. He was followed along the bark by Climax and Repulse. Showman, who had been lying last, ran into third place going round the bark for the second time, and he. Climax, and Repulse were abreast on turning for home. Showman then made an effort to overtake the leader, and. on turning into the straight, got on level terras. Climax lying third. Seaman also came through the field, and a great race resulted in a win for Taitoko by over a length. Irish Rifle beating Seaman by a head for second place. Time. 1.45.
