INCREASED SHEEP RETURNS.
(By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter. WELLINGTON, Wednesday. The sheep returns for the year ended Apirl 30 show a net increase throughout ■the Dominion of 1.465.28-1. and brings tho grand total up to 22i millions. There has been an increase in the North Island of 778*183, and in the South Island o' 687,098. The total number of sheep in the Dominion was 22,449,053, there being 10,816,852 in ohe South, and 11,832,201 in the North Island. Tlie districts table shows the number as follows: Auckland 923,807, Napter and Gleborne 6,446,7<?1, Wellington aed West Qoast 5,261,633, Marfborough and Nelson 1,191,097, Canterbury and Kaikoura 6,308,010, Otago The number «{ breeding ewee laereajwd ttoa. 10.736,840 to ll^^yHl.
