GOVERNMENT BILLETS.
AN UNFOUNDED STATEMENT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. In consequence of a statement having been made at Mt McLean's political meet, ing that the Premier had appointed one of his sons to the public service, Sir Joseph Ward has written to llr McLean denying the allegation and asking Mr McLean to state at his next meeting that none of his sons has been appointed to a Government position, nor have any of them ever received money from the Government for any service.
