As American dollars, paper money and silver coins were not accepted by the banks, the convenience afforded by Messrs Thos. Cook and Son, in exchanging this, as well as the gold, was of considerable service to the shopkeepers, as well ac to the American visitors. This firm now desires, as announced elsewhere, all money held by tradesmen to be handed in for exchange not later than Thursday r.ext.
