THE 'FRISCO SERVICE.

NO FRESH DEVELOPMENTS. MUCH DEPENDS OX AMERICA. The Premier, interviewed by a "Star" reporter last night, on matters respecting the 'Frisco service, said that so far there were no fresh developments. Whatever happened would depend to a largo extent upon what America did. The Senate had refused to give the subsidy asked. America's first-class sea subsidy Tate was higher than tbe second-class rate, and a first-class subsidy had been refused. The owners had lost by running under a second-class'rate, and that was the real barrier. "In the meantime," continued the Premier, "we cannot do anything. Our total subsidy before was small, even compared with what America gave under the second-class rate." The Trisco service, added Sir Joseph, is certainly the shortest route we have.
