The details of the interview with Mr. lioyd-George (Chancellor of the Exchequer) at Carlsbad, show that he upheld the two-Power standard in the interest of Britain's defence. He suggested the possibility of an understanding with Germany in the direction of limiting the nrtuxe building of rew ships and arranging the proportion for each.
