VICTORIAN LEGISLATOR DEAD
OLDEST IN AUSTRALASIA. (Received 9-55 a.m.) MELBOURNE., this day. The death is announced of the Hon. Nicholas Fitzgerald, a. member of the iVictorian Legislative Council. The Hon. Nicholas Fitzgera4d had the honour of being the oldest Parliamentary hand in Australasia, having sat continuously as a member of the Victorian Legislative Council since 1864. He was in his ninetieth year, ha.ving been born in Galw ay in 1829. He went first to India and then to Australia, -where he became largely interested in commercial and pastoral pursuits.
