Ills liancee, Alexandrine Sardelman, aged 10, was brokenhearted at the news, and declared that nothing would induce her to give up her sweetheart. She petitioned the authorities to allow the marriage to take place ax nuce. Her request was granted, and the prisoner was conducted by four detectives to the malrle, where his bride aud her friends were awaiting him. After the ceremony he bade her farewell for 10 years, and was taken back to his cell, while the bride returned to her parents" home.
