RUINED BY A "GHOST."
STRANGE RRASON FOR FAILURE. In Liverpool Bankruptcy Court on Monday, June i2nd, Thomas Henry Brown and John Bond, trading together as builders and contractors, appeared for public examination, and stated (says the London "Daily Mail") that one house they had built had only been let twelve month* out of eigut and a-talf years, and another only three years out of the same period. A story had been circulated in the district. Bald Mr. Boud, of nn old house in the vlciuty being haunted by a ghost. The Registrar: Did you ever see the ghost? Mr. Bond: No, but there was nn old honsc built a good many years ago which stood by itself In a field In front of ours, and there was some bother with some ventriloquists or something at one time. The Official Receiver: And that old house was said to be haunted?— Yes. Did you ever seen anything of the ghost? —Nothing at. all. However, it injured your property?— Well,
I could not ascribe it to anythiug else.
