A special meeting of the Borough Council was held on Monday night to inquire into ■certain insinuations of theft of tinuber made against a person employed by the Conncll After a number of witnesses had been examined, general discussion ensued, and on the motion of Mr. Power, seconded by Mr. ■E-vnns, a .resolution was unanimously carried to the effect: "That the committee are of the opinion that Mr. Foster was fully Justified in mentioning the matter to the engineer, as evidenced by the statement made by Mr. Graham, and that the person against whom the allegations were made toe exonerated from any charge of dishonesty."
