SCHOOL BOOKS.
1 (To the Editor.) Sir, —When are we to expect reason in regard to school books? During the ;- past few weeks my children have been -'* asking for additional lesson books. Not v content with the ordinary readers (and G there are three used in some classes) >- the children are now required by the £ teachers to procure copies of "Coral a Island," and "The Last of the Mohicans." Sir, is it not getting ridiculous and even cruel to the parents? I hope .' public opinion will be aroused by this y letter, and that soon something definite [1 will be done in regard to our "free" edu- ' cation, and a uniform system of school c books. —I am, etc., PARENT.
