GISBORNE, this day. Miss Petersen, victim of the recent shooting at Pakarae, is making good progress towards recovery. It is proposed presently to remove her to town, where an operation for the removal ofl the second bullet lodged at the base of the skull will be performed. To get this out it is proposed to perform tracheotomy, administer chloroform through windpipe, and operate from the roof of, the mouth.
