(To the Edltor.l - Sir, — Witli your permission I should like to bring under the notice of your readers a very sad case, where by. a wife and 5 young children (mere babes) are deprived of their-bread-win 1 ner. I refer to the late Mr Barton, who was killed at Penrose on 25th inst. A meeting will be held this evening at Mr Holmes' office, Queen-street, Onehunga, to form a committee who will elect the trustees to act on the widow's behalf, when all interested are invited to attend. In the meantime, Sir, I shall be pleased if you will accept donations from those who feel disposed to help a suffering wife and children.—l am, etc., H. BANFIKLD.
