A MUSICAL NUISANCE.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WANGANTUI, this day. In the Magistrate's Court this morning a man was charged on the information of the Railway Department with making himself a nuisance in a railway carriage by playing a violin anil soliciting pecuniary help. The case was practically brought as a test to combat similar nuisances. Defendant was fined £1, and costs £3. It is announced that llr 0. Nicholson, Mayor of Mount Eden, has definitely agreed, in response, to a number of requests, to contest the Grey Lynn seat with the Hon. Geo. Fowlds at the forthcoming elections. Lioutcnuut Kenny is a passenger for Fiji by the Talune to-night en route for Vancouver. "They remind mc of a lot of theatrical people, the plasterers do," remarked a w-itness at the Arbitration Court this morning' in the Plasterers' dispute. "They come here from all parts of the world." Asked by Mr. S. I. Clarke (the employers' representative) whether the present wage of 12s. a day was fair, the witness naively: added.- 'fit's - : all right for the local chaps, but it must cost those others an enormous lot for travellinjexpenses."
