THAMES NEWS.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) THAMES., this day. A man named Richard Jameson received severe injuries to his foot this morning by a gun accident. He was out shootin.fr, when he slipped, and the gun exploded, tho charge lodging in nis foot. Jameson was removed to the hospital. At the I'olicc-court Xukn Merriman, I charged with drunkenness and obscene language, pleaded guilty, and was lined £5, or one month's imprisonment. Rapaint Merriman', charged with obstructing the police while arresting his brother, was discharged. The disturbance took place at Shortland last night. The Thames County Council intend pressing forward.the matter of opening up communication by a traffic road from the Thames to Tairua, and are obtaining preliminary details.
