MOUNT ALBERT.

The annual meeting of ratepayers in the Mount Albert Road district, was held In St. Luke's Parish Hall last evening. The Chairman of the Road Board (Mr M. J. i Coyle) presided. The Chairman, in presenting the balancesheet, stated that v the general rates collected ! during the year amounted to £1559, an increase of £288 over the previous twelve months. The expenditure on public- works during the 12 months was £1880, which i included £228 14/2 for tarring and sanding, £1094 for cartage and labour, and __2_5 formetal and scoria. The water supply account now had £873 standing to its " credit, which would be ample to provide for all likely, extensions in the immediate future.
