AUSTRALIAN FOOTBALL.
A large number of those interested in the Australian football game met at the Sports Club last night, and it was decided to form a club (the fourth senior clubi to play under the League rules, it was decided that tne name of the new club should be -Newton," and that the colours should be red and white hoops. The following were unanimously elected as officers for the ensuiuc season :-l*resident. Mr Albert Eagletonl secretary, Mr Marshall,-, treasurer, Mr J Wilson; delegates to the League, Messrs' Lagletou, Wilson, Thompson, and Kin" A membership of twenty-five players was enrolled, ensuring the success of the new club The following were elected as a general management committee: Messrs Eagletou, Marshall, Vilsou, Prior, Thompson, and Kin" A very hearty vote of thanks was accorded by acclamation to Messrs Callinau and McGuire. representatives of the League for their attendance, advice, and assistance rendered.
