THE MEAT MARKET.
An Amended Report. (Received 9.55 a.m.) MELBOURNE., this day. During the of the tariff debate the Federal Government received a reply to a cable despatched to London that the canned meat reported to have been re-shipped to America consisted of stocks withdrawn by the Admiralty, the Government having sold the surplus old stock at low prices. The Minister for Customs says the facts do not disclose J ■xny additional opening for Australian ' preserved meats.
