(To the Editor.! Sir,—-In your cablegrams, Sir E- Giffen is represented 'as stating that the banking and ■ other liabilities exceeded £ 100,000,000, -with available reserves of £50,000,000. Tack another cypher on to the liabilities, making one thousand millions, and the statement will be nearer the truth.—l am, etc., H.J.
