Excellent racing was provided, and Champion, the Auckland swimmer who was so successful at the Napier Carnival, was a popular winner in the 220 yds championship of Auckland, and the 100 yds invitation scratch race, both of which distances he put behind him in New Zealand standard time. The relay races, in which eicht teams of five men each competed, created considerable diversion, and a clever exhibition of fancy diving was given by the Waitemata Seagull Clnb. which was represented by Messrs McCarthy, Long, Kronfeld, Sluice, and .loan.
