.... : . THE CLARK CUP. ■•"■' At Penrose on Satnrday, the ninth competition for the Clark cup took place, the conditions being seven shots at 200 yds, 500 yds, and 600 yds. The weather conditions were not conducive to good shooting, a strong, gusty wind blowing, with heavy showers at frequent Intervals. Out of 34 entries, 14 were absent, retired, or counted out. The winner proved to be Gunner Watson, of the No. 1 Company G.A-V., whose score of 93 points was a very creditable performance. He holds the cup for twelve months, and takes first prize money, while the next five highest scorers receive money prizes. The previous winners of the cup I are as follows:—1895, P.0.G.8.
