The Rev. A- Don. i n opening the Ttoslyn Presbyterian Church bazaar, claimed that the pipe organ (as well as the piano) was an invention of the Chinese, to .whom'if had been known for quite 3000 years. Confucius, when first he heard the organ, was so enraptured with it that he fasted for a considerable time afterwards, but the Chinese conception of good music had greatly, degenerated since then, and when a few years ago the speaker first heard the Chinese organ, he felt inclined to fast a long time also. In regard to the action commenced by Professor Talbot Tubbs against the Unithat the Council has withdrawn the appeal entered against the decision of Mr. Justice Denniston, and that the Civil action has been the subject of a friendly arrangement, plaintiff accepting compensation in settlement of all claims. Professor Talbot Tubbs expects to leave for England shortly. •
