STATE OYSTER DEPOTS.
WHOLES A.TJR BUSINESS I&NLY. Mr L. F. Ayson, Chief Injector of Fisheries, is now in Auckland arranging for a depot at which oysters vtan be delivered and sold, and also for the picking of the Hauraki Gulf. Picking (rill be under the control of the inspector of fisheries at Auckland, and that at the Bajr of Islands will be in charge af the inspector at RusselL At the deprct nothipg under a sack of oysters will b* sold, the State confining itself to the Vholesala business.
It is anticipated that the season's demand will be met by an oufcpui of 20,000 sacks, and that quantity, fr»m present indications, is easQy in sight.
