A GIRL'S DEATH.

Mr. S. Murphy, Acting Coroner, concluded at Sydney the inquest concerning Beatrice Maud Johnson's death. The girl, who was only 19 years of age, died in the Sydney Hospital on February 1, and, in her dying depositions, implicated an ex-constable named Frederick Geo. Brown, who was present in Court, having been arrested under a provisional warrant in Auckland, N.Z., and brought back to Sydney. Mr. Hayes appeared on behalf of the Crown, and Mr. Jas. W. Abigail on behalf of Brown. The Coroner found that Beatrice Maud Johnson, at Sydney Hospital, on February 1, 1908, died from pyaemia following an operation upon her by Frederick Geo. Brown at No. 4, Rosebank-street, Darlinghurst, on or about December 14, 1907, and that the said Frederick Geo. Brown did feloniously and maliciously murder the said Beatrice Maud Johnson. Brown was committed for trial at the Court of Gaol Delivery on March 16.
