PRISONER ATTEMPTS SUICIDE
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) PALMERSTON NORTH, this day. A prisoner named Edward Jones (alias Johns) attempted to commit suicide in he prison yard at the gaol this morning jy cutting his throat with a sharp piece Jf tin. His wound is not serious. Jones vas to have been sentenced this morning or an indecent assault on a little girl, ■>i which offence he was convicted by the Supreme Court yesterday.
