PAEROA, this day. On Saturday afternoon .teams ing'Paeroa and Kethertoh'were engaged in a shooting match, which resulted iv a win for Netherton by a substantial majority of 50 points...! •' '.'" ... ' -• On Saturday evening the footballers at Komata held a 'social gathering. There was a very large attendance from all over the district. Trophies were presented to Mr Royal. as the best . all-round senior player, and to Mr Dunn, as the best junior player. Mr E. Ricketts .was presented with a gold mounted watch guard as an appreciation of services rendered to the team, he haying played iv every match for the past five years. A number of musical items were rendered, and dancing was indulged in. This evening Mr Burrell, statioiimaster, who leaves for Morrinsville ou Thursday nest to take up duties there, was entertained at dinner by the railway employees. On Saturday afternoon at Paeroa the bowling green was officially opened by Dr. Smith, president of the club. Visitors were present from Karangahake, "sVaihi, Thames, Hamilton, and Te Aroha. The Paeroa Band enlivened the proceedings with a musical programme, and. lady friends dispensed afternoon tea. The National Bank Will open an agency at Karangahake on Mondays, commencing next weel=.
