MINE MANAGEES' REPORTS.

Ngatiaiva.—Good progress continues to be made with the driving of the low level north on the reef, the face having been advanced 17ft. There is no material change In the appearance or valne of the ore, it being mtich the same as at last report. No gold has been met with.

Royal Oak.—Tile rise In A level on tribute lead is now up 21ft from back of drive. The average size of the lead is 4in, and colours of gold are seen in the stone at each breaking down. Tbere have been three small parcels treated by tribnters tot a return of lloz 15dwt retorted gold, valued at about £30.

"Waihl Extended.—The No. 4 level has been advanced 37ft, and the reef being easier than usual, we have been enabled to make good progress. The reef along here has been well denned, and averages 4ft In width. Work has been continued in the shaft as usual, fair progress being made.

Magnet.—Operations were commenced on tUe Vale of Avoca reef on the 14th inst., and we have cut the approach to level, and begun driving on the reef. At this point the reef is about 2ft wide. The country rock in the face is somewhat disturbed, bnt it is improving as we advance into the hill. I am forwarding" samples of quarts shovrfng gold from the Vale of Avoca reef to the Auckland office. The low level has been advanced sft for the week. There is no change to report from this section of the mine.
