At the second annual meeting of the members of the Waitemata Bowling Club, the chair was taken by the vicepresident, Mr. W. J. Smith, in the absence of Mr. George Fraser. The report showed satisfactory progress during the past year, and was adopted on the motion of Mr. H. M. Shepherd, on whose motion it was also resolved that the incoming committee approach the gas company with a view of securing the freehold of the area on which the green is situated. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—President, Mr. H. M. vice-president, Messrs. Alex. _eyes, G. Fraser, W. J. Smith; committee, Messrs. Clark, J. Brown, J. Peachey, Leonard, S. S. Kin - niard, A. Campbell, and J. Law; match and selection committee: Messrs. Peachey, Smith, and A. Taylor (the latter being also appointee* auditor); hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr. J. Jackson; assistant ditto, Mr. J. Maginness, and green superintendent, Mr. W. J. Smith. The latter referred to the indebtedness of the club to Mr. J. Jackson, and on- his motion, the following resolution -was adopted: "That a hearty vote of thanks be accorded to Mr. Jackson for the energy and zeal he has shown on behalf of the club." It was also decided that hon: members' subscriptions be reduced to 10/6. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the out-going president for services rendered during the past two I years. .' ....-•.-
