WELLMAN EXPEDITION.
WRECK OF A STEAMER.
FIFTEEN I/IVSS LOST. LONDON, October 11. Captain Larson's steamer Fredjof, after acccaipanying Mr. Walter Welljnan's Polar balloon party to Spitzbergen, the base of operations, was damaged by ice. and proceeded to Iceland. The vessel, however, owing to the accident, was unable to weather a heavy storm off Cape Langsnes, and became a total wreck, 15 persons being drowned.
