i WELLINGTON, Thursday.

A portion of the fellmongery at the Wellington Meat Export Company's works, Ngahauranga, was destroyed by fire, with the contents, to-night. The company's employees, with the fire-fight-ing plant, prevented the flames from spreading. The damage and insurance are unknown yet.

WELLJNGTON, this day.

The fire which did so much. damage at the Meat Export Company's fellmongery at N|J_iaurangjj,, last night, was the second outbreak in the same building within a month. Last night's outbreak destroyed the. upstairs portion of the fellmongery and the contents including a large- quantity of wool, a large motor and generator, and several drying machines. The nmchinery on the ground floor was damaged by water. The workmen used a large Merryweather fire engine with good results, and the City Fire Brigade also rendered, excellent service, despite the fact that it was summoned at rather a late stage. The building was insured in the Alliance and other offices for £3550, and the plant and electrical fittings, etc., in the same offices for £3080. The insurance on the wool is not available.
