GRAND OPERA COMPANY.
Refreshed by a good night's rest, after the rough, handling in the vexed Pacific, the members of the Royal Grand Opera Company were this morning reported to be thoroughly themselves, and a good opening performance may consequently be looked for this evening. Eespite the inconvenience caused ;o soma who had
booked' Seats for Monday, there can be little doubt that Mr. George Musgrove did the right thing in postponing "Lohengrin," rather than cause his principals to make their first appearance in New Zealand under most disadvantageous circumstances. The music-loving section of the community will profit'by the postponement, as well as the artists themselves. Bizet's ever-popular opera, "CaTmen," the 1000 th performance of which was recently given in Paris, an honour which no other opera except '"Faust" has shared, will be given to-night with precisely the same cast of principals as it was in Melbourne and Sydney, and with an orchestra which is larger and said to be better, than that -which ac companied the last Grand. Opera Company which Mr. Musgrove introduced to New Zealand. To-morrow the opera vrill be '•Tannhauser."
