Noumea advices state that the cruiser Cambrian, which has arrived there from the New Hebrides, visited the island of Mallicolo in connection with the murder of an English trader, landing a party, which fired upon the natives.
The latter replied, wounding ten blnejackets, one of whom died. The others have recovered.
