AUCKLAND A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.
The ordinary meeting of tie Auckland A. ancU p. Association was held yesterday. Present- Messrs John Massey (otaurniSTc. B. Kingswell, M. M. Kirkbride. W. J. Walters, R. Hail, J. RutHerford, K. Dick, Anderson, Wylie, Wills, Muir, and letter was received from the Agricultural Department on the danger of Introduction of tick into New .Zealand from Queensland. It was considered extremely improbalTle by the Department that tick could be 'introduced in oaten chaff, but that hay chaff might prove more dangerous. A letter from the Queensland Government bacteriologist on the same matter was also enclosed, emphasing the fact that the importation of sheep and cattle from tick-infested districts was a prolific source of infection. This subject is to come up for consideration at the Colonial Conference. Annual Show. —It was decided to hold the annual show on the last Friday and Saturday of November. In the matter of investigating the matter of organisation and arranging schedules for the show, it was decided to set up an executive committee-' Telephone at Grounds. —It was decided that a deputation wait upon the Tramway Company with a view to getting a telephone on the Association's grounds, the company to make a charge for nse of same by the Association. Finance.—The financial statement showed a credit balance of £51 6/7, out of which it was decided to niate a donation of £25 to the military funds for generosity in allowing the nse of, the hall for the show, and for the trouble taken by the military antnorities in assisting the arrangements thereof.
