THE AUCKLAND-BULLER FOOTBALL MATCH.

(To the Editor.) Sir,-»AS the Auckland Rugby representatives are to meet a team from the Buller Union ou Saturday next to contest the possession of the Ratnfuirly Shield, I hope the local union will see that the Auckland team take the field clad in uniform knickers. This is only a small matter, perhaps, and does not affect the play, but I for one would like to see our team appear as they used to do—all clad alike. For some years now the Auckland team, both on tour and at home, have turned out in any pair of knickers they possess regardless of colour or condition, and as the players themselves evidently do not take sufficient pride in their appearance to obtain the representative white knickers, it is hoped the management committee will see that the by-law re colours in the A.R.U. Annual is enforced, and that the public will have the pleasure of seeing the Auckland representatives take the field upon this occasion (and in future) in a manner befitting the wealthiest union in the Dominion.—l am, etc., FULL BACK.
