GOLF.
The Auckland Ladies' Golf Club championships were commenced at the Cornwall Park links yesterday, and were continued to-day. Following are the results:—
Championship Match. —First round: Miss E. Martin beat Miss N. loung, s up and 7 to .play; Mrs. G. Williams" beat Miss K. Buckland, 5 up and 3 to play; Miss G. Gbrrie beat Mrs. W. K. Bloomfleld, 9 up and 8 to play; Miss K. Willis beat Miss J. Riebmond, 3 up ana 1 to play; Miss M. Cotter beat Miss Gorrie, '2, up and 1 to play. Approaching and Putting.—Twenty-eight competed. In the first round Mre *W. K. Bloomfield and Misses E. Pierce and G. Gorrle tied for first place, with nine strokes each for three distances. In the second ronnd Mrs. Bloomfield and Miss Gorrie again tied, with 10 strokes each In the play-o£E Miss Gorrle won -with. 10 strokes.
