The receipts toalled £11,479, and the expenditure amounted to £10,898; balance at the bank being £SSO. The sum of £882 had been spent on improvements and new buildings, and £270 on painting. The chairman said he regarded the present situation as most satisfactory, and remarked that it was proposed to raise the stakes to £1000. Such a step would draw a larger number of horses. He condemned the petition for the abolition of the totalisator, and believed that those who agitated foe its abolition would be the first to clamour foe it to be reinstated. As for roguery on the course," reports were very much exaggerated. '• Mr J. Hazlett (vice-president) stated that the double line wonld soon reach the course, and be of great benefit to the club and to the public. The following were re-elected:—Hon Geo.
