A meeting ctF the girls in The upper classes of the district school was held on 1 Wednesday afternoon, when it was decided to form a hockey club, and a committee i was formed to arrange for a concert at I an early date, the fnnds so raised to go' towards the purchase of the material needed. A very largely attended wedding was celebrated at the residence ot Mr and Mrs Alexander Nicholson, of Uuntlv West, > on Wednesday, when Hiss Annie Nicholson aud Mr l.eo. Berryman were united The ballot for the post of check Welshman at Raiplrs mine resulted iv favour of Mr R. Manning, secretary of the local Miners' Union, who had a majority of 25 o-rer his opponent. The tender of Mr F. Wilson. Taupiri. for the removal of the Huntly Public Reading Room and Library, has been accepted.
