MURDER IN SYDNEY.

MELBOCKS-E, this day. Mr Barnett Bauer, the well-known dia- '■ mond merchant, was- discovered' in his I office at Modern Chambers, Collins- ! street, last evening with his skull frac- ! tured in several places. He died after re- ; moval to the hospital. i Though there were no signs of a struggle he had evidently been brutally murdered. The affair is a complete mystery. A friend who saw Mr Bauer ten minutes' before the body was discovered I found the door of the office locked. On one in the building heard any sus- i picious sounds.
