AUCKLAND PARLIAMENTARY ASSEMBLY.
The Auckland Parliamentary Assembly, which, during its opening session last year, was so pronounced a success, is to meet again this year. A meeting of members, held in the Leys Institute last evening, convened' by Mr. Maxwell Walker, unanimously decided to continue the organisation this year, and the opening night will be somewhere about the end of June. On a motion by Mr. Parkinson, the constitution of the assembly has been slightly altered to enlarge the scope of membership, and it will now be possible for persons desirous of becomino- members to be enrolled without first joining a literary society. The various debating societies affiliated with the assembly have been asked to elect their delegates for the session, and a committee is now working to arrange all necessary prelimi__ ar i ea . As a means of education for political life the assembly offers many advantages, and a successful session is anticipated
