LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL APPOINTMENTS.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WELLING-TOX, this day. I have it on excellent authority that the appointment of the Hons. Jenkinson and Rigg as Legislative Councillors will not be renewed by the Government until the return of Sir Joseph Ward to the colony. There i≤ good reason to suppose that in any further accessions to the Upper House claims of labour will receive prominence.
