NO. 3 NATIVE KIFLES. The No. 3 Native Hides fired a competition at Penrose on Saturday last lor a medal presented to the company by LieurG. T. Kretschiuar. The trophy was won by Corp. C. S. Hogan, with the good score o£ 62. The ranges were 200 and 300 yardsseven shots and one sighter at each range. The following were the principal scores: — Coup- C. S. So, 8 Company G.A.V. fired the 200 and 300 yards ranges of the Company's champion belt at Penrose on Saturday last. The weather conditions were almost perfect, except for a light tricky wind that at times made shooting difficult. So far Gunner Dillon, the present holder of the trophy, is leading. ARAKANA RIFLE CLUB.

At their range aX Penrose on Saturday afternoon, the members of the Akarana Rifle Clnb fired competitions for trophies presented by Mesere F. Combes and Stevenson, the conditions in each being ten shots at 500 and 600 yards. The "A" Class competition for Mr Combe's trophy was won by Mr C. Simpson with the excellent total of 95, but epart from this score, the shootins «s not up to the usual standard. Mr Sterenson's trophy, which was fired for by the "B" CUss, fell to Mr H. CoUis, with a total of 66. In each competition the previous winner secured second place. The leading scores were as under:— "A" Class.—Mr C. Simpson, 48 at 500 yards, 47 at 600 yards—total 95; Mr J. Carlsen, 45, 41—56; Mr J. F. Atkinson. 42. 42—84; Mr W. Cox, 44, 3»-83; Mr J. J. Buchanan. 43, 34—77.
