AN AUSTRIAN KILLED.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) THAMES, this day\ A large number of people journeyed to Paeroa to-day for the second day's racing of the Ohinemuri Jockey Club. Another contingent left for ■ Ngaxuawahia Regatta. Members of the Thames Bowling Club left for Waikato, where matches will be played against Cambridge in the morning, and Hamilton in the afternoon. News has been received by the police that an Austrian, whose name is not yet known was killed yesterday in the bush at Wharekawa. The body was brought from there to Paeroa by the deceased's comrades, and will be conveyed to Thames this afternoon.
