THE SOUTH AUSTRALLAN COURT.

The South Australian Court is a small compact court and conspicuous, being situated near the south entrance abutting on "Wonderland." It catches the eye as the. visitor enters, and its neat display of wines and cereals, preserved fruits, and textile fabrics at once attract attention.. Mr J. H. Scott is the Commissioner for the colony, and a very live Commissioner where the interests of his colony are concerned. The Government of South Australia, having decided that it would not be advisable to forward a display of manufactures, as there was no prospect of business resulting, resolved to invite the wine makers and fruit preservers to make an exhibition commensurate with the importance of these natural products of the trade between that colony and New Zealand. Hence there is a display, and a very fine one, of these products and textile fabrics only. The space oreupied is 1000 square feet, and the principal exhibit is comprised in a trophy 25 feet square. Thp wines are displayed in a series of moorish arches, and an ornamented column emblazoned with appropriate designs of the products of the vine, and fitted up for the reception of samples of pure brandy made under the supervision of the Government. The names of the vineyards are conspicuously painted on the trophy. Upon the side facing Canada are shown the natural products of the. Northern Territory, with descriptive samples of the miner .1 resources of that country, the bulk- of Ihe specimens being massed in a pyramidieal form flanked on each side by samples of cotton, arrowroot, commercial fibres, tropical products, food, and medicinal drugs, which are further illustrated by photographs. On the other side there are samples of grain, dried fruits, olive oils, preserves, jams, almonds, etc. The display is most artistically arranged.
