The youngest son of Mr. Geo.St (3_fc Heard, a boy of seven years, died __t_e_ suddenly this afternoon from p_rtn_m ____,■ At the Borough Council meeting last evening the following resolution wa» formally read: "That the street Lithsrto known as Broadway, extending fro* Waitete Creek to Mangatbteoe Greek, 1m re-named, and known as Seddon-avenue, and that the street hitherto known at Waihi-street, sometimes described at Main-street, be re-named, and known as Seddon-street, from Mangatoetoe Creek to its junction with Barry-road." On tie motion of the Mayor, it was resolved that the Council coznmunicate with, the Minister for Justice with a view to hiring three additional cells and a fence erected at the Waihi police barracks. The mover pointed out that several complaints had been made in cases when prisoners who were remanded for aiwwk had to be sent to the Thames Gaol and back again for want of proper local: _*•; oommodation.
