The Xew Zealand Factory Butter and Cheesemakers' Association held its annual meeting to-night. The following officers were elected: President, H. M. KockelJ; vice-presidents, Messrs. Bragcb, J. Middleton.. and W. E. Gwllini: committee. Messrs. R. T. fcouness, A. C\ Ross. F. J. McDonald, S. Bowman, W. Dempster. A. Lees, and J. ODea: auditor, Mr. ('. McKic: secrtary and treasurer.. Mr. J. K. The instructor could be paid partly by the Government and partly by the dairy companies, as the latter would benefit Iby the rise in the value of butter. The Xational Dairy Association met to-day and passed the following resolutions: '•Thai the dairy associations combine to send a representative Home to watch their interests there;" and '"That it is desirable in any proposed revision of the Customs tariff that there should be no increase in the duty on dairy iinai-hinerv.' .

At a meeting of St. Mary's Church parishioners to-night it was resolved to make additions to the church estimated to cost £3000. WANGANUI, Tuesday. Shortly after eleven o'clock to-night a five-roomed house iv Bell-street, owned and occupied by Mr David Ruseoe, was destroyed by fire. The building was insured for £250, and the furniture for £150 in the Phoenix office. Only a couch was saved.
